Escapism is a mental diversion from troublesome or boring aspects of daily life. It may be used to occupy one's self away from persistent feelings of depression or general sadness. This project was based on looking into the different forms such as seeking out alternate activities like sports, music etc. Some drown themselves in work or immerse themselves in addiction, like smoking, alcohol or even drugs. My aim was to address the positive and negative aspects of escapism and make known to young adults the significant power both aspects can have on their life. The negative long term affects of escapism conclude of feeling entrapment rather than escapism. Whereas the positive allows you to escape your mind and feel free from stresses and worries. I want to make known to youngsters that the choices of positive escapism will allow you to have a happier and healthier lifestyle. To achieve this I created a digital illustration poster and an interactive Instagram page to help youngsters engage in what to refrain from and what’s a good way to escape reality.
