My project was to up-cycle/recycle a garment into any chosen theme. I chose to up-cycle a pair of cargo trousers into a dystopian/archive fashion theme. I also used elements from a cyber theme which I was inspired by. I chose these themes because I liked the aesthetics and I thought they linked to the project proposal. Dystopian fashion uses a lot of distressed or second-hand clothing to give a post-apocalyptic look. I developed my designs and techniques to fit these themes and I think the outcome of my garment reflected that well. In the future I plan on staying in this fashion design course for a second year as I am very pleased with the skills I have learnt in my creative process. I would like a degree in fashion so I can start my own clothing line one day using everything I have learnt in this course.
