My project this year is to upcycle or recycle an old item to create a new purpose for the clothing item. I decided to take a denim skirt and upcycle it to give it a new purpose. My inspiration for this came from my artist and designer research: Jaison Cianelli and Emma Baker. My favourite thing about these artists is that they use bright colours and abstract patterns which fit my theme of festival wear perfectly. My chosen artist and designer influenced my final piece because I combined Jaison Cianelli’s use of colour and marble print with Emma Bakers clothing patterns to create my final design. Throughout the year on this course, I have gained multiple skills and knowledge in particular areas which will help me progress further. I am proud of the work that I have achieved.
