My corset was inspired by renaissance tapestries. My goal was to create an art piece on my corset. There is religious imagery, enlightenment imagery and scientific imagery. This is because during the renaissance era ideas of the enlightenment and philosophy began which led to a lot of scientific research. I have created a storyline to show this process while also merging all the different imagery through my colour
palette. I chose renaissance tapestries because they are extremely detailed and the style of art is something I have always been interested in. I decided to merge the scientific and religious imagery by painting flowers out of DNA strands. I decided to use pearls as stars as they give a more royal feel which is what renaissance tapestries feel like to me.
