My project is based on the theme of regency era fashion, alongside the additional theme of present-day activism. I originally chose the theme of regency fashion as I really admire that period very much. The regency period was arguably a big step towards feminism; this fit nicely with my second theme of activism. I also added the empire waistline to show the silhouette of a regency gown. The black and white protest photos was to show a clear contrast to the bright red embroidery surrounding the images. When I leave this two-year course, I am planning to go to university. I wish to study fashion journalism at university. I wish to eventually work in a creative field that combines the skills of fashion and writing as I feel that this would be a very fulfilling job.
