My project was to upcycle a found material and create a new fashion garment with it. I decided to choose the theme of 70s abstract art which gave me creative freedom to use colour and different techniques. I was inspired by the different patterns i could create using abstract art and felt that the history behind it was fascinating. In this project I was able to expand my knowledge on how a garment is created while using research to help me throughout my tasks. After this course, my plan is to hopefully find an apprenticeship where I can gain further training and knowledge that will help me work towards my future. I hope to find a course in fashion where I can put the skills I have already learnt to work. While this course has taught me about fashion, it has also taught me how important research is.
