My dress is inspired by the artist called Sandro Botticelli. He was an artist from the 16th century. I wanted to create a summery dress that was really feminine, when thinking of this the renaissance theme popped in my head, and one of the biggest artists was Sandro Botticelli. He had a spring painting where a person was wearing a flowy dress with flowers on it, this is where my idea popped into my head. When planning the making of this dress I listed all the ways I could do it, and after all I found that the best and most efficient way was to paint my designs onto a piece of fabric and then stitch it on my dress. I upcycled my garment by using an old dress I borrowed from a family friend, I then stitched new and handmade decorative pieces onto it to create a brand-new dress.
