For this project I have used the theme of 1970s punk. I love how punk was a rebellion against the upper class and it was about the people fighting for what was right. One of my main themes in this project was feminism as it is something that I am very passionate about. One of my many inspirations was Vivienne Westwood as she was one of the most famous punk designers of the time with her shop “sex”. I wanted to create more of a statement piece than the typical idea of fashion as I felt it would be more authentic to the protest of 70s punk and would portray my punk feminism theme in a better view. I chose Vivienne because I felt at the time, she was the voice for the working class in the fashion industry and she has inspired my love for fashion for years.
