My work of art is a digital image of The Belvedere hotel that has been embroidered with multi-coloured threads. The Belvedere hotel was an old pub that is closest to where I live. When I started working on this project, I heard that the building will again change to apartments so this showed me how a listed building can change its purpose.

When creating the template, I used the pub from 2006 because I wanted to use an older version of it that I knew when it was still open. I used the different coloured thread because this would draw in the audience, and it also give a texture to the building, showing a more contemporary and present feel to the old pub.
When people look at my piece, I want them to reflect and think about how we don’t have to tear our past/history down to create our future.
