My painting is about the history of transport that have been used by the fire service over the years. From a simple horse and cart in 1890, to the modern fire engines of today. I have chosen to base my artwork around the fire service because I wanted to create a visual that shows not only the changes, but also show how far technology and the fire service has come from when it first started. I've used mixed media because I wanted my picture to stand out, not only with colour, but with light and tone too. When the audience see my work, I would like them to have a nostalgic feeling. I would want them to think about the mix of an old black and white photo with a modern-day colour photo along with the use of a horse pulled carriage as this is typical of previous transportation.
