The ballet dancers are getting ready before the show starts. This piece is a reflection of my thoughts from my project ‘Then and Now’ and is shown through the materials I have used; that being the surface and range of colour . As an artist both of those things are very key elements. I wanted to express this with one of the new surfaces I have been experimenting with, which is glass. I thought it was an amazing idea as it really showcases the full effect of the paints (Acrylic.) I have chosen to paint ballet dancers to assist the theme of my project which is the evolution of ballet. This inspiration came to me from many stages of my life, dance was involved whether it was media, things I was watching or family perusing dance I had this fascination with the elegance of it all.
