For my final piece, I chose to research into the theme of ‘Home’ through creating my own character with inspiration from games and comics. Using nature to relate to home, my character’s home is a large tree located at the edge of a rainforest overlooking a desert environment.

I decided to create a largescale watercolour painting of my character in their own homeland. I chose to paint on A3 paper as this is different from the scale I usually work with, which is normally size A5 or A6. Working with a larger size paper would allow me to incorporate a lot more detail into my piece. My FMP is mixed media as I have experimented with watercolour, different tonal values and marker pens.
